My name is Collins Rush, and I’m a working actor currently based in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Originally from Houston, Texas, I moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University (TCU) and pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre (expected graduation Spring 2020). While attending TCU, I have performed professionally in Hello, Dolly! with Casa Manana, Guys and Dolls with Lyric Stage and A Chorus Line, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Spring Awakening with Uptown Players.
As a kid, I was never sure what I wanted to be “when I grew up.” I decided I wanted to be a geologist in the third grade, but my family explained that I would have to do more than just look at pretty rocks all day. Needless to say, I gave up that idea immediately.
In the seventh grade, three very important things happened: I signed up for my first theatre class in school, my mom enrolled me in a local training program and I took my first dance class. I performed in my first three musicals that year and after those shows I finally knew what I wanted to do “when I grew up” and that was musical theatre!
Through high school, I continued my training at the Tribble School for the Performing Arts and immersed myself in my high school’s theatre program. I studied dance at Suzanne Semans Dance Studio in Houston, where I also had the privilege to travel to NYC every summer for five years to train and take private classes with some of the best choreographers & teachers in the business.
